The destruction of chemical plants, burning of fuel storages and release of huge quantities of nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, has seriously depleted the ozone layer over Europe. The depletion of the ozone layer can lead to a regional and global environmental disaster, which is best illustrated by The following national parks and protected natural resources have been under attack:

The spilling of oil deviates and chemical agents have poisoned the rivers, canals, underground waters and several thousand hectares of fertile land.
